Introductory Call (15 minutes) - Free
This brief call allows us to discuss your concerns, explore how I can support you, and answer any questions about the counselling process. It’s a chance to determine if we’re a good fit before committing to full sessions, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed moving forward.
Initial Session (60 minutes) - $160
Your first session is dedicated to exploring your concerns, personal goals, and what you want to achieve in therapy. It’s a time for me to learn about you and your unique needs and work with you to make a suitable treatment plan. You’ll also get a better feel for my approach and start developing your confidence in the counselling space.
Standard Session (50 minutes) - $140
Standard counselling sessions provide a supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Each session is tailored to your needs, whether that means processing challenges, building coping strategies, or working toward positive changes in your life. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your journey.
Extended Session (90 minutes) - $230
An extended counselling session offers extra time for deeper exploration and reflection, making it ideal for those navigating complex issues or wanting a less rushed experience. With additional space to process emotions, develop strategies, or engage in therapeutic activities, this session allows for a more in-depth and supportive approach tailored to your needs.
Private Health Insurance
Health Insurance rebates are available for customers of AIA Health, Emergency Services Health, Frank Health, GMHBA, Phoenix Health, Police Health, St Lukes Health, Teachers Union Health, Uni Health, see-u by HBF, Nurses & Midwives Health, and Westfund.
Rebate amounts will depend on your individual policy cover and I always recommend checking with your insurer for accurate and up to date information.
Medicare Rebates
Under the Better Access Scheme, a GP can provide a mental health care plan to help clients access rebates for visits to a psychologist. However, these plans do not extend to psychotherapists or counsellors.
At present, the Medicare rebate for seeing a general psychologist is $93.35, while the Australian Psychological Society recommends a session fee of $300, leaving clients with an out-of-pocket cost of over $200.
In comparison, the standard fee for individual counselling and psychotherapy is $140, which is typically lower than the gap payment often required by psychologists.
